Barker Mill Cupola Restoration |
|
Years prior to the
structure's conversion from a textile mill to elderly housing, the cupola
was removed and replaced with a flat roof. The design for this new cupola
was based on documentation of the original found in a few historic photos.
The Barker Mill Cupola restoration was recognized with a Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award in the category of Commercial Rehabilitation and Adaptive Use, by the Board of Trustees of Maine Preservation.
